Is it guaranteed to see the Northern Lights on the evening/aurora tours?

We can’t promise a Northern Lights show, but we always keep our fingers crossed! The weather in Kiruna can change quickly and is hard to predict, and since the Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon, it appears on its own terms. We’ll do our very best to give you the best possible chance to see it.

How big are the tour groups?

We aim to have a maximum of 8 guests per guide. If more than 8 guests are booked on the same tour, we will either split the group or add additional guides. This allows us to offer the best possible experience and keep the tour as personal as possible.

Where is the meeting point for the tours?

If you have not selected a hotel pickup, we meet at our office at Torggatan 4, located in the NEW city center of Kiruna.If you choose hotel pickup, the guide will meet you outside of the hotel’s main reception.

How many people share one snowmobile on snowmobile tours?

Snowmobiles are booked for two people per snowmobile by default. You are welcome to take turns driving during the tour. If you are traveling together, you will share the snowmobile with someone from your party.If you prefer to drive alone, you can book a single driver supplement during online booking. If a travel agent or tour operator is assisting with your booking, please inform them of this request.Please note that the single driver supplement is per person. If two people want one snowmobile each, two single driver supplements must be selected.

On dogsled tours where you drive the sled yourselves, there are 1–2 people per sled, depending on the type of the tour and the kennel.On dogsled tours, where the guide is driving, there are usually 4–5 guests per sled.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking activities as far in advance as possible to secure a spot on your preferred date and chosen tour. You are also welcome to book at our office upon arrival, but availability cannot be guaranteed for last-minute bookings. If your requested tour is full, we will do our best to suggest alternative options. Please note, that some dates, especially during Christmas and New Years period, are usually sold out several weeks or even months in advance.
